ఓ కథ, తరువాతి కథ వ్రాయి!

సామాన్య జీవితాలు, చిరు అగచాట్లు.

బాధ, వేదనతో కూడిన గాథలు,

సరళంగా, స్పష్టతతో, ముక్కు సూటిగా చెప్పేలా,

రోజూ వేయి కన్నీళ్ళు ప్రవహించే వాటి గురించి,

వాటిలో విస్మరించని కొన్నిటి గూర్చి,

విస్తృతమైన, వివరణ లేకుండా,

సామాన్యంగా, దృఢమైన కథనంతో,

సిద్దాంతాలకు, తత్వశాస్త్రాలకు తావులేకుండా,

ఏ కథకు పూర్తి పరిష్కారం చూపకుండా,

కొస ముగింపు లేకుండా,

హృదయం మాత్రం ఆర్ద్రతతో నిండేలా,

లెక్కలేని పదాలతో,

అంతులేని కథలతో,

విచ్చుకోకుండానే మొగ్గను తుంచినట్లు,

కీర్తి ధూళి శ్లాఘించకుండనట్లు,

ప్రేమ,భయం,తప్పుల గురించి,

తెలియని వేల జీవితాల గూర్చి వ్రాయి!

small lives, humble distress

tales of humdrum grief and pain

simple, clear straightforwardness 

of the thousands of tears steaming daily

a few saved from oblivion

no elaborate description

plain steady narration

no theory or philosophy 

no story quite resolved

not ending at the end

but leaving the heart uneasy

all the words unnumbered

stories never completed

buds unripey torn

dust of fame unsung

the love, the terror, the wrong

of thousands of lives unknown
